Trombonist Haim Avitsur, who joins the Hartt School as Associate Professor of Trombone beginning in fall of 2016, has premiered over 80 new pieces, encompassing a broad range of styles from solo trombone to chamber music and orchestra. Mr. Avitsur is also on the Classical Trombone faculty at Manhattan School of Music, NYC and an adjunct low brass faculty member at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Queens College, New York.. From 2008-2014 Mr. Avitsur was the trombone professor at West Chester University School of Music (PA). From 2004-2007 Haim Avitsur was on the faculty of the University of Virginia as well as the Principal Trombonist of the Charlottesville Symphony Orchestra. In 2005 he founded the Summer Trombone Workshop, which has a US residency at Temple University, PA. In the summers of 2007 and 2008, Summer Trombone Workshop had a second residency in Taiwan. Winter STW had its first residency in 2009 at Rowan University in New Jersey.

Dr. Justin Waller is an active musician and teacher across the United States. He has performed and recorded with such groups as the American Brass Quintet, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera, and numerous others. Recent solo performances include a guest recital at the Summer Trombone Workshop, hosted at the Manhattan School of Music, and a performance of the Concertino for trombone and string orchestra by Lars-Erik Larsson with the SCCC College Orchestra.
Justin was appointed to the position of Lecturer of Trombone at East Tennessee State University in 2018. Scott Hartman is one of the preeminent trombonists of his generation, performing throughout the world as a soloist and chamber musician.
Mr. Hartman is presently a member of the Yale Brass Trio, Proteus7, the Summit Brass, the Brass Band of Battle Creek and the trombone quartet - Four of a Kind. He began his chamber music career as a member of the famed Empire Brass.
As a chamber musician, Scott has performed in all of the 50 United States. He has been a featured performer with many major United States symphony orchestras - including the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, St Louis Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Philadelphia Symphony, El Paso Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Providence Symphony, Detroit Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, Spartanburg Philharmonic, San Antonio Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Syracuse Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic and the National Symphony and many more. Abroad, Mr. Hartman has been a soloist with the BBBC Orchestra, the New Japan Philharmonic, the Caracas Symphony, the Simone Bolivar Symphony, Bursa (Turkey) State Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony of Taiwan, the Daejeon (South Korea) Philharmonic and the Korean Orchestra in Seoul, Korea.
Scott heads the trombone department at Yale University. Each summer, Mr. Hartman performs and coaches brass chamber music annually at the Norfolk Chamber Festival and the Chautauqua Music Festival. In addition to teaching and performing, Scott runs a publishing company for brass music, Firebird Editions, and has developed and produces his own line of mouthpieces. He plays a 'Hartman' model S.E. Born in Rehovot, Israel, Ilan Morgenstern is hailed by the International Trombone Association Journal for his “rhythmically driving, technically flawless, and unfailingly dynamic and exciting' playing.
Currently the Bass Trombonist of the Vancouver Symphony, Morgenstern has also been a member of the San Antonio Symphony, Houston Grand Opera Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony and Kansas City Symphony, and in addition has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Utah Symphony, Houston Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Virginia Symphony, New Israeli Opera, and the Israel Philharmonic.
Morgenstern's concerto performances have included engagements with the with the San Antonio Symphony, United States “Pershing's Own” Army Orchestra, Millennium Orchestra (Seoul, Korea), Jeju Symphony Orchestra (Jeju, Korea), and the National Repertory Orchestra. In addition, Morgenstern has won numerous awards for his playing including the Jeju International Brass and Percussion Competition, Zellmer-Minnesota Orchestra Competition, National Repertory Orchestra's Concerto Competition, and is a recipient of the Lewis Van Haney Bass Trombone Philharmonic Prize.
Labeled a “must buy” in the International Trombone Association Journal, Morgenstern’s debut recording project It's Alive!! New Music for Bass Trombone, a collaboration with composer Robert Denham and pianist David Gilliland was released in May of 2016.
